United Way of Acadiana helping host symposium teaching school leaders about the program; planning for the future

Today and tomorrow United Way of Acadiana is helping put on a symposium hosting over 350 school representatives from multiple states, teaching them about the Leader In Me program.  The Leader In Me is a whole-school transformation process helping children develop leadership skills.

"It changes the school culture, it also helps students to focus academically by understanding their choices in school and how they can reach their own goals," says Sarah Berthelot, Chief Operating Officer for the United Way of Acadiana.

United Way of Acadiana has already helped nine schools in Acadiana integrate the Leader In Me into their schools, and those schools have seen tremendous results.  They are hoping more schools adopt this in the future to help all children in our area become more successful.
