Lafayette Public Library celebrates annual Summer Reading Kickoff

The Lafayette Public Library System kicked off the Summer today at their branch on the 6100 block of Johnston Street this today. The Summer Reading Kickoff is the largest event LPLS holds during the year. The event featured many free family activities such as arts and crafts, face painting, a petting zoo, and magic shows to name a few. The library was teeming with families having a blast bringing in what should be an exciting summer.  

The Lafayette Public Library System has over 10 locations throughout Lafayette Parish. It;s mission is to "enhance quality of life of our community by providing free and equal access to high quality, cost effective library services that meet the needs and expectations of our diverse community for information, life-long learning, recreation, and cultural enrichment."
