Lafayette General Medical Center has opened it's new parking garage offering patients, guests, and visitors 343 new parking spaces.  The garage, located between the hospital and the Heymann Center, is accessible from South College Road near the Bendel Drive interchange.

"For the last five and a half years Lafayette General has tripled in size, in terms of our patient volume.  So because of that there was very little parking as we began this project, and so the city allowing us to renovate the old cinema center lot helped us get through this.  This really solves the parking problem for the campus as well as the Heymann Center," says David Calcott, CEO of Lafayette General Medical Center.

The current traffic route to the hospital's emergency room remains unchanged.  Traffic entering the parking garage will not be able to access the emergency room driveway.  The garage is also open to patrons of the Heymann Center as well as the hospital, and free valet parking remains available.
