Airport predicts to have lost about 60 flights from cancellations already this year
LAFAYETE (KADN) — Not only travelers have been affected by plane cancellations due to the winter weather. Our local airport has felt the hit as well. The airport is able to fund projects based off of the number of people that board flights in Lafayette.
"It's critical that the people fly out of Lafayette. When we have cancellations like we had those tickets are lost, those enplanements are lost, a lot of times people have to fly other airports because of seats available out of Lafayette especially now," says Greg Roberts, director of aviation at Lafayette Regional Airport.
Most flights out of Lafayette have been at capacity lately, but with the recent cancellations have held back numbers for Lafayette. The airport predicts almost sixty flights have been cancelled at the airport since the year began.
