Non-profit organization and Mardi Gras krewe that raises money for cancer research
LAFAYETE (KADN) — Krewe De Kure started in 2011 and is a non-profit organization that raises money for cancer research along with celebrate Mardi Gras. Last year Krewe De Kure raised $4,500 for the American Cancer Society, and this year they are adding St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to their list.
"It's something that I think touches everybody. Everybody knows somebody or has to think about that in their future and we're hoping that when or if, hopefully never, but if that day comes that we're making it better for them in the future," says Alex Monteleone, President of Krewe De Kure.
The Krewe is hosting a masquerade ball on October 11 at the Petroleum Club with music from local DJ Jeremy Lecompte, food, and a silent auction featuring donations from Lafayette's best businesses, all to help a great cause. If you want more information on how to join the Krewe or about the ball coming up you can go to www.KreweDeKure.org.
