Retired teacher Kermit Bouillion is on the Lafayette parish school board, and even with all of the controversy that has surrounded the board lately he says he's running again.  Bouillion was one of the people that helped bring superintendent Dr. Pat Cooper to Lafayette, and he says he wants to be there to make sure Dr. Cooper's turnaround plan is seen all the way through.

"I always felt that as a former educator I could really make a difference if I ever became a school board member, where you really are voting on the policy that affects the teachers that then affect the classroom and the kids, and their test scores," says Kermit Bouillion, school board member.

Bouillion predicts that after this election we should start to see changes in the way the board operates.
