Centanni says board needs a change, wants Dr. Cooper to have a chance at his turnaround plan
LAFAYETE (KADN) — Surrounded by family, friends and neighbors Justin Centanni officially announced his bid for the sixth district seat on the Lafayette Parish School Board. Centanni is a parent with children in public and private schools in Lafayette, and says he wants to return civility to the school board and put the needs of students and teachers first.
"We have a real chance in Lafayette to improve our school system. We hired Dr. Cooper two years ago to do just that. It's time for us to get a new board in there that'll give Dr. Cooper a chance to implement his turnaround plan and hopefully succeed, but if not we'll get to hold him accountable for it," says Justin Centanni, school board candidate.
Centanni is Assistant Vice President, Database Analyst for Iberia Bank. He will be running against Kathleen Espinoza in his district. Centanni plans to start walking around neighborhoods and talk with people about their concerns and ideas for the future of the Lafayette Parish School System.
