The impact of UL football's head coach Mark Hudspeth, now the "$6 Million Man"
Mark Hudspeth has finally signed a six year contract with the University, look how he's impacted our community
LAFAYETTE (KADN) — Coach Mark Hudspeth has made his mark in Lafayette. In three years, he's brought three bowl championships home to Acadiana.
"We wanted to make our football program something that the entire community, city of Lafayette could really be proud of, we could be their team," says Mark Hudspeth, head coach of UL football.
The UL Ragin Cajuns have always had die-hard fans, but now the fan base has grown and Cajun Field is full.
"There are two things that are very contagious in the world. One is attitude and the other is winning, and he's brought both of those to us over the last three and a half years," says John Bordelon, President of RCAF.
And it's not just the football program that has changed, just walk around town on a Friday and you'll see Cajun gear all over. Coach Hud and his wife love Acadiana.
"We just immediately felt at home. People here are very family oriented, and they welcomed us into their house immediately with crawfish boils and cookouts. We just immediately built very genuine relationships with people," says Tyla Hudspeth, Mark Hudspeth's wife.
