Iberia Parish hit by wind damage along with flooding
Some wind damages throughout the Parish from storms throughout the night
Lafayette, LA (KADN) — New Iberia woke up to more issues than just standing water in the roadways this morning.
"We did have reports of wind damage earlier this morning off of Neco Town Road where a mobile home was thrown off of its blocks. Some structures were kind of blown like storage buildings and sheds and things like that. Also we did have wind damage in Loreauville. So no one has reported any injuries luckily so at this time mostly what we're dealing with is just the standing water in the roadways," says Captain Ryan Turner, Iberia Parish Sheriff's Department.
All streets and intersections that were closed throughout the day have been re-opened, but there is still high water on many streets. Captain Turner says the water has started to drain, but the threat is still out there so use caution.
