The outside lane of I-10 will be closed in the westbound direction between the Henderson Cecila exit to just before the elevated section of the Atchafalaya Basin levee. This closure will take place tonight between 8:00 pm until 6:00 am tomorrow morning.

This lane closure is necessary to allow for supplemental clean up efforts to take place on I-10 west as a result of the head on collision between two eighteen wheelers that occured just last week

That collision did unfortunately claim the life of a 25 year old male from Texas who was carrying a load of a substance called Carbo-Tec. This substance caught on fire as a result of the collision which caused it to form into an extremely sticky substance which is the cause of the major clean up efforts.
