Special guest Congressman Boustany will be participating in the workshop from 10am to 2pm
LAFAYETTE, LA (KADN) — Often times we wait till the last minute to prepare for a hurricane. Home Depot is having their annual hurricane preparedness workshop tomorrow from 10 in the morning till 2 in the afternoon. All in time to inform you what necessities you need and tend to forget before tax-free weekend coming up next weekend, August 2nd through the 4th.
"We want everybody to have a safe storm season. We hope that there's no storms, but if there are we want you to be safe, we want you to be protected, and we don't want anyone to have to wait in any lines for last minute items because they come in by truck and you can only get whatever is there and there's no selection so you have to wait," says Bonnie Shipley, Department Head of Hardware at Home Depot.
Home Depot will have preparedness workshops every hour on the hour from 10 am to 2 pm, along with dunking booths, lemonade stands, and mini golf. Members from the sheriffs department, Red Cross, the fire department, as well as special guest Congressman Boustany will also be participating in the workshop tomorrow. Some things we often forget include gas cans, tarps, tape, toiletries, water, buckets, and even a safe to put your home owner's insurance in.
