Bringing much needed new business to the area
LAFAYETTE, LA (KADN) — The future look bright for the city of Opelousas. A brand new Hampton Inn is in the works. It will be along I-49 just off the Creswell exit and behind WalMart, bringing some much needed new business to the area.
"It's a win for Opelousas because it's a Hilton facility, and of course it's a product that's sought out when people are traveling. I think it will just again spur other growth," says Mayor Don Cravins of Opelousas.
And the hotel isn't the only business folks in Opelousas can look forward to. Two restaurants have already inquired about building next to the hotel. Mayor Cravins says this particular area is where the future of Opelousas is, which is why he's looking for more businesses to develop along the I-49 corridor.
