Formed special committee dedicated to educate public and help make best decisions for community
Lafayette (KADN) — The Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce has become very involved in coastal protection issues along with hurricane protection this year. They have formed a special committee that's geared to hurricane protection and coastal erosion issues to help educate the community to make the best decisions they can regarding coastal protection and hurricane protection.
"We live right here in a hurricane zone so it's important that we figure out a way to protect ourselves and our economy and still take care of the environment and other issues that we need to address," says Janet Faulk-Gonzales, CEO of Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce.
The special committee meets once a month and has created a facebook to promote information throughout the community. The committee also addresses flood insurance issues as it relates directly to coastal concerns.
