Lafayette (KADN) — A Grand Jury on Wednesday found that the person who shot Scott Thomas was justified in the incident and that no charges will be brought against the shooter.
Police say Thomas kidnapped and tortured his estranged girlfriend, Bethany Arceneaux, in 2013.
Authorities and family members searched for the victim and found her and Thomas in a vacant home near Duson, LA on November 8.
The victim’s cousin, Marcus Arceneaux, 23, reportedly shot and killed Thomas at that time.
Assistant District Attorney Pat Magee presented the evidence to the Grand Jury on April, 23, and group of citizens have reviewed the entire case.
According to a statement released by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday: “This concludes the legal process in this matter.”
