Joshua Johnson (26) was arrested on drug charges after a routine traffic stop.

A Scott Police Officer saw a gold sedan turn without using its turn signal.

The officer stopped the car, and immediately smelled marijuana as he approached it.

Johnson, who was sitting in the back seat, opened up a beer and began to drink it in front of the officer. He admitted to police that he used the beer to swallow the remainder of a marijuana cigarette.

The driver, Shannon Gardiner gave police permission to search his vehicle. Officers found a single rock of crack cocaine upon searching the car.

Johnson admitted that the substance belonged to him and officers determined it was, in fact, crack cocaine after a substance field test at the Scott Police Department.

Johnson was transported to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and charged with possession of crack cocaine.
