Teacher In-Service shows teachers what careers are available for students in the area

Today Frank's International gave some Lafayette teachers a tour of it's Manufacturing and Machine Center.  The teachers are part of Lafayette's career and technical education program.  Frank's is hoping teachers will get new information about advanced industry technology, and pass that information along to their students.  And teachers say it's a good opportunity.

"It shows that we here in Lafayette and Louisiana are in the forefront of opportunities and technology.  I think if we go back to the classroom and also our administrators and people who actually need to know how important it is to bring this to the students, who we are trying to prepare for careers in the future," says John Broussard, industrial arts teacher at Acadiana High School.

John Broussard teaches at Acadiana High and he told us he's already coming up with ways to incorporate what he's learned into his lesson plans.  He also hopes he'll be able to tell students about the kinds of jobs they can get here at home.
