Former truck stop casino employee arrested for theft of $68,000

A former employee was arrested for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in cash from a casino vault.

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that a truck stop contacted the department in regards to the missing money. Investigators connected former employee Tabitha Michelle McKee, 33, of Pineville, to the theft.

McKee is accused of stealing approximately $68,000 in cash. Details regarding how the theft occurred were not provided by officials.

McKee was arrested for 6 counts of Monetary Instrument Abuse and 6 counts of Theft of Currency. She was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on a $60,000 bond.
