Missy Paschke-Wood is mid-way through her first week as the new executive director of Festival International de Louisiane.  Her background in music and theater and professional experience focused on non-profit and arts made her a perfect candidate for the job.  Her family recently moved to Lafayette, and in large part because of the community's festivals and atmosphere.

"The response that we've gotten from everybody in the community reaching out to me has just been indicative of Acadians and Acadiana because everyone just wants to help, and everybody wants to say hello and is so friendly.  I just couldn't have asked for a better spot," says Missy Paschke-Wood, executive director.

Missy says she has no plans to change the way the festival runs, and is extremely impressed with the festival's board members and their work ethic.  She says the 28th Festival International de Louisiane will feature all of the same traditions and art as years before.
