Feds: International gambling ring known as 'Macho Sports' busted
(CNN) — Federal authorities announced Wednesday that 18 individuals have been charged for their alleged involvement in an international gambling organization known as "Macho Sports."
Ring members used "intimidation, threats and violence" against "delinquent customers," the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of California said in a news release.
FBI agents arrested 14 of the accused earlier Wednesday in San Diego and Los Angeles, while one of those charged was arrested by police in Oslo, Norway. The status of the remaining three is unclear.
