There is an exciting announcement for travelers from Louisiana's Department Of Transportation And Development today.
US 90 will be open from four to six lanes by this evening DOTD's plan is to have all lanes open.
In the days to come expect to see some construction still going on like seeding and fertilizing the four slopes. Some shoulder work and finishing striping the roadway but other than that DOTD says the roadway is open.
This project started in April of 2010 and stretches seven miles from Pinhook towards Broussard this was a 20,000,000 dollar project that is a part of DOTD's effort to upgrade US ninety to interstate I-49 south. It will help facilitate and make I-49 south possible.
Secretary Of DOTD Sherri Lebas says the main reason for these projects is the safety of the traveling public.
Lebas says they are hard at work putting the I-49 south project together. I-49 south will cover from Lafayette all the way to South Louisiana ports.
Because it will reach our southern ports, it will facilitate the economic growth to be able to get all the oil industry services and goods moving up through the corridor and throughout Louisiana
