LAFAYETTE, LA — Brandon Scott Lavergne, the man accused of killing Mickey Shunick walked into court this morning for an evidentiary hearing. He’s accused of kidnapping and then killing Shunick back in May. He was indicted on two counts of First-Degree murder in the deaths of Mickey Shunick and Lisa Pate. Lavergne has pled not guilty to all charges. Prosecutors said they plan to seek the death penalty.
