East Texas grandparents found guilty of scalding toddler in tub

TYLER, TX — An East Texas couple arrested for injury to a child was found guilty in a smith county courtroom Tuesday afternoon.
Kenneth Neal Walker, 55, Shelley Walker, 60, were taken into custody in February.
The grandparents were convicted of placing their 2-year-old granddaughter into scalding water in a bathtub at a house on Aberdeen in Tyler.
The toddler was severely burned on her feet and ankles. She was flown to a Dallas hospital when the incident took place.
The sentencing phase of the trial began immediately. The Walkers face anywhere from probation to life in prison.
