DUSON, LA — A Duson resident has been booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail for indecent behavior with juveniles and computer-aided solicitation of a minor, announced Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell.
Today agents arrested Rickey Matte, 52, following a multi-state investigation involving the Attorney General’s High Technology Crime and Fugitive Apprehension Units, the Suffolk County Police Department in New York, Louisiana State Police, and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Matte is accused of using the Internet to chat with an 11-year-old New York girl whose mother notified New York authorities when she became aware of the online communication between Matte and her child. After determining that the suspect was a resident of Louisiana, officials with the Suffolk County Police Department contacted the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office to continue the investigation.
Evidence found at Matte’s residence links him to the crime and indicates that he may have chatted with multiple other underage victims. The investigation is continuing.
