Domestic abuse victim nearly killed by second incident, boyfriend arrested

A man accused of a prior domestic dispute with his girlfriend is now locked up for nearly killing her.

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the suspect, Terry Paul Rebert, Sr., 31, was wanted for a charge of Domestic Abuse Battery against his live-in girlfriend. It stemmed from an incident that occurred several months ago.

On Jan. 6, 2013, Rebert allegedly struck his girlfriend with a weapon, causing her to be sent to the Intensive Care Unit of a local hospital.

Rebert was located and apprehended on Thursday, Jan. 10. He was arrested and charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, as well as the prior charge of Domestic Abuse Battery. His bond was set at $250,000.

Officials did not provide an updated status of the victim.
