Disturbance Ends in Shooting

Lafayette, LA—On June 25, 2014, at approximately 11:55 am, Lafayette Police responded to the 200 block of East Clinton Street regarding a shooting. Responding officers were told there was a disturbance over a stolen battery which ended with the suspect allegedly shooting the victim, a 34 year old male, in the left leg. Lafayette Police were able to identify the suspect as Karlon Woods, Jr. (18) of Lafayette, La. A warrant was obtained for Woods arrest for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. The victim was transported to an area hospital and treated for his non-life threatening injury.

Police are encouraging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Karlon Woods to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
