ST. LANDRY PARISH, LA (KADN) — The man responsible for a rash of burglaries in the Big Cane area has been arrested.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz said that detectives arrested 32-year-old Brandon Paul Frelich, on February 18.
Sheriff Guidroz said that Frelich confessed to committing burglaries from February 14-16, along Highway 361 in the Big Cane area.
“Detectives from our Lebeau Substation were able to collect physical evidence at each scene that led them to identify Brandon P. Frelich as the person of interest,” Sheriff Guidroz said, adding that they “also discovered that Frelich had a previous parole violation warrant from Jefferson Parish for burglaries committed there.”
Frelich stole approximately $3,500 in appliances and household items, but caused around $4,000 in damages during the burglaries.
Guidroz also said that “All of the stolen items were recovered and returned to the owners.”
Frelich was charged, in St. Landry Parish, with theft, burglary of an inhabited dwelling, 2 counts of simple burglary, and possession of schedule II drugs. He was then transferred to Jefferson Parish, to face sentencing for violating his parole.
