Deputies: Man kidnapped woman, beat her, then returned her as if nothing happened

An Opelousas man was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a woman from her home.

The St. Landry Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident happened on Wednesday, Nov. 28. We’re told deputies were contacted by the victim, who said her attacker forced her into his car, then hit several times. She claims that the suspect drove around with her in his car, then brought her back to her home “as if nothing happened.”

Reports note that the victim had visible injuries to her face and hands. However, she was not seriously injured.

Deputies identified the suspect as Rhondale Willis, 25. He was arrested and charged with Simple Kidnapping and Simple Battery.

Willis is currently being held at the St. Landry Parish Jail with no bond.
