Former LSU head basketball coach, Dale Brown and motivational speaker stopped by the school to talk about his book, Getting Over the Four Hurdles of Life.

The new Superintendent of Lafayette Parish Schools, Pat Cooper said there is potential for greatness at Northside High School.
The Viking's gym was packed for Brown's speech that comes at the perfect time to overcome hurdles.
"So we feel very honored to have him here. He sought us out. What can we do for children? It's about the kids, it's about helping the children understand that there is hope and promise for their future and putting them on the right track. And we hope that this is just the thing that they need to kind of get their spirits flowing again," exclaimed Sandra Billeaudeau, Certified School Turnaround Specialist.
Thanks to some generous patrons, every student, teacher, and staff member at Northside got a copy of Brown's book.
