Cycle Zydeco drawing in almost 300 people from at least 17 different states
Four day, 200 mile cycling tour throughout Acadiana
LAFAYETE (KADN) — Cycle Zydeco is mid-way through their four day, two-hundred mile cycling tour. The tour celebrates zydeco and cajun and creole music and food. The leisurely bike tour draws cyclists to Acadiana from all over the country to enjoy our world renowned food, music, natural beauty and hospitality. This year there are close to three-hundred riders with people from at least seventeen different states.
"It's just amazing what it does for tourism. Just to sit down and talk to them and hear about their culture and our culture, and there's a vast difference as we know but they're really interested in the history and all the food and the stores and festival international," says Kat Crappel, Cycle Zydeco representative.
Cycle Zydeco is one of the many running, riding, paddling and other outdoor events TRAIL hosts throughout the year in an effort to promote the four E's. The four E's include getting people outside to exercise, gain education of the environment and culture, experience the outdoor surroundings and enjoy recreation. The event goes on through Sunday.
