City-Parish President Joey Durel applauds Acadiana for listening to the winter weather warning
Closures not an over-reaction, but safety precaution
LAFAYETTE, LA (KADN) — With the winter storm finally over city-parish president Joey Durel says Acadiana responded extremely well, especially since this isn't something we're used to although some are criticizing the closures, saying it was an over-reaction.
"You always try to balance that. What's over-reaction, what's it going to cost you, but in the end you've got to make the decision based on safety," says City-Parish President Joey Durel.
Mayor Durel also says he is extremely pleased with the way all law enforcement, municipalities, schools, and DOTD representatives communicated with each other, and a big thanks to everyone who listened to the warning and stayed inside.
