City-Parish President delivers annual State of the Parish
Highlights growing economy and discusses consolidation issue as well as taxes in the parish
LAFAYETTE, LA (KADN) — Today Mayor Joey Durel joined many people throughout the community for the annual State of the Parish address, where the mayor highlights Lafayette's growing economy as well as the issues of consolidation, the rededication of taxes to help fund animal shelters around the parish, and a one cent tax to help our local airport keep up with the growing economy in our parish.
"It's all about letting people know what our vision is where we are and where we hope to be going, and it's a great opportunity for the people of Lafayette the people who care about what's going on to come in here. With the question and answer period we get to talk about some of what they want to hear about, but they get to hear our vision, our dreams, and how we hope to accomplish those dreams," says Mayor Durel.
