
LAFAYETTE, LA — A case of road rage sent a man to the hospital on Christmas day with several stab wounds.
The Lafayette Police Department reports that the incident occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 25 at roughly 7:00 p.m. We’re told a 42-year-old man was driving down I-10 westbound when a car drove dangerously close to his vehicle. The victim told officials that he and exchanged hand gestures with the driver, then they both pulled over on the shoulder of I-49 at the intersection with Pont de Mouton.
The two drivers became involved in a physical altercation. During the fight the victim was stabbed multiple times, and the other driver fled the scene in his vehicle.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The only description of the suspect that could be provided is that he’s a white male in his 40’s. The vehicle he was driving is a white panel van.
