Caught on Camera: Armed robber gets away with cash in Lafayette

Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating an armed robbery at the Dollar General Store located at 1225 Carmel Drive; investigators are releasing a portion of the video surveillance of the robbery in hopes that someone may identify the assailant.

The robbery was reported between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11 and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

The suspect was a black male 5’5’ to 5’7’ weighing approximately 150 pounds. The suspect was wearing a red hooded sweat shirt, stone wash colored blue jeans, black shoes, with a red cloth of some type wrapped around his face. There were white socks over his hands and he was armed with a small black in color semi auto pistol.

The clerk was not injured during the robbery.
