Car sales continue to do well nation wide as the new June sales numbers have been released. Overall, automakers sold almost a million and a half more new vehicles this year in June compared to last year. And the top auto seller in the industry was the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram line with a big 9% increase for June sales in the U.S.

Looking closer to home in the Acadiana area, we found that the folks at Sterling Chrysler are also smilling because of the auto boom and asked them what has attibuted to the doulbling of their sales in the last 4 years.

"We were selling 50-60 brand new cars a month. Now we are in 120-130 range every month. It's really been push here locally at Sterling were we pride our selves on customer service and just treating people the right way." said General Sales Manager Jeff Cook.

"Nationally Chrysler is taking on more of a role of trying to just put a better product out and changing the concept of what Chrysler was to what it actually is now."

Sterling Automotive with their two locations of Opelousas and Lafayette are thrilled with their record sales numbers and thank the customers of South Louisiana for their business. The fact that the numbers for new vehicles is up nationally as well as the Acadiana area is excellent news for everyone.
