Candidate challenges opponent to cage fight

The U.S. Senate race got a little more interesting on Wednesday.

The battle between Democrat Charlie Melancon and Republican David Vitter has produced a lot of fireworks. Mr. Melancon recently challenged Vitter to a television debate, and now independent candidate Mike Spears has challenged Vitter to a cage fight.

Mr. Spears is calling for three rounds of mixed martial arts in the Cajundome on October 16.
