California man shot multiple times in motel, suspects wanted

A man from California was shot multiple times in Lafayette this weekend.

The Lafayette Police Department reports that the incident happened at the St. Francis Motel on Saturday, Dec. 16 shortly after midnight. We’re told the victim, a 46-year-old man and his female companion were inside the hotel using illegal drugs when there was a knock at the door. The victim opened the door to find three black males.

Officials say one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot the victim four times. They then fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived.

The victim was found in the parking lot of the motel when help arrived. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment, where he is currently listed in stable condition.
