Two 7th grade boys in Virginia Beach have been suspended from school for shooting an airsoft gun in one of the boy's front yard. A school committee voted to suspend Khalid Caraballo and Aiden Clark for an entire year.

Khalid says he and friends were playing with the non-lethal guns on his lawn while they waited for the school bus. He admits to shooting at two other friends, but said he never took the gun off the family's private property.

Reporter: "When you saw the bus come, what did you do?"

Khalid: Put the guns up."

Reporter: "You're at the house."

Khalid: "We're at the house."

Reporter: "Did you take the gun to the bus stop?"

Khalid: "No sir."

Reporter: "Did you take it to school?"

Khalid: "No sir."

Reporter: "You put it up here at the house?"

Khalid: "Yes sir."

Reporter: "Went to the bus stop?'

Khalid: "Yes sir."

Reporter: "Got on the bus to go to school?"

Khalid: "Yes sir."

A concerned neighbor called 911. The principal says other kids were on their way to the bus stop when they were hit with the pellets, so the school has jurisdiction.

The boy's parents don't agree. Khalid and Aiden are suspended until next June for "possession, handling and use of a firearm."

A hearing will be held in January to determine if they will be allowed back in school. Virginia Beach police say no one will be charged in the case.
