Bond set at $100,000 for LSU law student accused of raping woman
BATON ROUGE, LA — Bond has been set at $100,000 for a student at the LSU law school who is accused of raping a woman.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that Abdellatif Devol, 25, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 18. He is charged with Forcible Rape for an incident that happened on Friday, Sept. 13.
The victim told investigators she went out with Devol earlier in the evening and admitted that the two had been drinking. She agreed to go to Devol’s house, but claims she rejected his sexual advances. However, he became aggressive and forced himself on her.
The victim went to a local hospital following the attack. Medical examiners told investigators that the victim had injuries consistent with a sexual assault.
Investigators took Deval into custody at the University Law Center, where he is currently enrolled as a student.
