Another Compressed Natural Gas bus added to Lafayette's Parking and Transit fleet
Buses have UL logos
Lafayette, LA (KADN) — Lafayette Consolidated Government unveiled one of it's newest compressed natural gas buses today on UL's campus. Lafayette Consolidated Government continues to transition it's Transit fleet to compressed natural gas. It's latest buses are expected to be on the road at the end of January and feature a University-inspired extension of the "fueled by nature" theme.
"We are thrilled with the increase in the number of CNG buses that we have. This is just an indication of how we want to work with the University and bring in the University's logos to the scope of our fleet," says Michael Mitchell, Manager of Parking and Transit.
These buses are very beneficial to the city's budget. Mitchell says Parking and Transit is experiencing a tremendous amount of fuel savings going from diesel to natural gas. He says there will be three more CNG buses by the end of this year.
