35-year-old woman claims to be a minor to avoid warrants in multiple parishes

A 35-year-old woman was arrested after claiming she was a minor to avoid being arrested on prior warrants.

On August 7 at around 11:33 p.m., Houma police officers patrolling in the area of the Sugar Bowl Motel at 8053 Park Ave. when they saw a gray Pontiac involved in some suspicious activity.

Officers conducted a traffic stop at Park Ave. and Barrow St. and talked two the two males and female in the vehicle; officers found no illegal drugs in the car.

The two males were positively identified by their ID's the female on the other hand, who was obviously an adult, initially told officers she was 16-years-old and provided several different names and birthdays, but none matching with the information provided by her.

The female was taken to the Houma Police Department, where after further investigation, she was idenitifed as Deuncle Marie Caldwell, 35, of New Orleans.

After reviewing her lengthy criminal history, officers contacted the last jurisdiction in which she was arrested, East Baton Rouge Parish, after contacting EBRSO it was learned that there was an outstanding felony warrant for her arrest in that jurisdiction for Failure to Register as a sex offender, as well as a misdemeanor shoplifting warrant in Jefferson Parish.

She was jailed at the TPCJC on the warrants as well as an additional charge of Resisting An Officer by providing false information.
