
It is possible the hospital may have to cut jobs and close entire departments to make ends meet.
Last Thursday about twenty parents and concerned citizens held a rally to voice their opposition to the plan.
The group held up signs and asked passing cars to honk their horns to show support for their cause.
"We met with the LSU system and we have been talking with them about ways we can try to preserve these jobs and to not have this type of impact happen every year. I'm going to be there working with them and hopefully we can come up with ways to change what's happening in this facility, UMC, " exclaimed Vincent Pierre, State Representative.
Sources said Acadiana delegation of politicans will continue with their talks to try and come up with a solution.
If they do not come up with a solution,100 employees could lose their jobs
And patients are worried it will impact the quality of care they receive.
