18-wheeler hauling $5M worth of electronics parked at truck stop in Lafayette stolen, recovered

Officials are searching for the suspects who attempted to steal roughly $5 million worth of electronics that were loaded inside an 18-wheeler.

The Carencro Police Department reports that the truck was stolen on Tuesday, Aug. 6 from the Travel Centers of America Truck stop in Lafayette. The 18-wheeler was hauling for Krystal Logistics located out of Florida.

Officers located the truck, but not the trailer, in a field located in the 900 block of Gendarmne Road. Roughly 20 minutes later they located the trailer parked behind the Family Dollar located in the 900 block of Veterans Drive in Carencro.

At this time no suspect has been identified. Officials did not say whether any of the inventory was missing.
