A 13-year-old was arrested last night for allegedly stabbing his stepmother to death.

The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office was contacted at roughly 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12. Deputies responded to a home located in the 4100 block of Loreauville Highway. When they arrived on scene they found the 34-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe her 13-year-old stepson is responsible for the homicide. He was arrested and charged with Second-Degree Murder. He was booked into the St. James Juvenile Detention Center.

The name of the teen has not been released due to juvenile justice laws. Subsequently, the name of the victim is also being withheld to avoid identifying the suspect.

I THINK IF AN ADULT CAN GO TO PRISON FOR MURDER, SO SHOULD A 13 YEAR OLD. I THINK HE KNEW JUST WHAT HE WAS DOING. OTHERWISE THE MOTHER WOULD HAVE LIVED. THERE ARE SOME VERY DAMGERS CHILDREN RUNNING AROUND THESE DAYS. MAY GOD HELP THEM ALL SO THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO MORE PARENTS.
