Young Professionals of LAGCOE hold First Inaugural Luncheon
Mr. Frank Harrison guest speaker
Lafayette, LA (KADN) — The Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition, also known as LAGCOE, held their first event in 2013 this afternoon. The young professionals of LAGCOE had an Inaugural luncheon at the Petroleum Club of Lafayette with a suitable guest speaker, Mr. Frank Harrison, who has spent the last fifty years in Louisiana looking for oil and gas and producing oil and gas.
"What I really want to do today is convey to the younger generation that it's a fun game, it's the best game. If they haven't already decided to participate, they are the future and that the industry needs them, and there's no better opportunity," says Mr. Frank Harrison, Independent Oil and Gas Producer.
"Lots of young guys they graduate from UL Lafayette right here in Lafayette or LSU, they work a couple of years here in Lafayette and they move to Houston. Of course there's opportunities in Houston and what not, but we'd like those guys to stick around here in Lafayette as well," says Tom Hebert, Chairman of Young Professionals of LAGCOE Committee.
LAGCOE is put on every other year. This year it will be held at the Cajundome in October, and will have representatives from different companies and businesses around the area. For example, Franks Casing Crew is participating and will show their tools and new technology to the public and their clients.
