Lafayette store robbed at closing time; police looking for suspects

Police in Lafayette are looking for four suspects in relation to an armed robbery.

On March 26 at approximately 11:50 p.m., Lafayette Police responded to the 1300 block of East Pinhook Road regarding an armed robbery.

According to the victims, four black males wearing dark clothing with their faces covered approached the two male victims who were closing the business for the night. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and another was armed with a hatchet.

The victims were then forced to re-open the store, at which time the suspects entered and stole money, shirts and cigarettes. One of the suspects struck one of the victims in the head causing minor injury. The suspects were last seen headed south on East Pinhook Road.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspects to contact Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
