This weekend is the 38th annual Festivals Acadiens et Creoles in Girard Park. Over 50 Cajun and Zydeco bands will play there, and there will be arts and crafts, and of course great food!
Festival organizer Pat Mould said, "We've been working all year getting prepared for this weekend and it's just a great way to celebrate our culture. It's a self celebration for Acadiana for people to come out and have an opportunity to celebrate our food, music, art, and the culture of Southwest Louisiana. It's going to be a fantastic weekend. It kicks off Friday evening with Joel Sonnier, Little Band of Gold will be having the official boudin cutting at 5:30 and dancing starts and then it rolls into Saturday and Sunday."
The festival kicks off Friday night and goes through Sunday night. For more info, check out www.festivalsacadiens.com.
