Shrimping Season Begins

Tuesday, May 8, 2012 - 4:46pm

Boats are hitting the bayous.kicking off the spring shrimping season.

The waters surrounding Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes opened up yesterday.

The catch looks great but more than two years after the oil spill people from out of state still aren't buying Louisiana seafood.

The FDA tests shrimp weekly and all the tests show no traces of oil or dispersants.

Shrimpers hoping seafood lovers will get over their fear this go around.

On May 21 shrimping will open everywhere else along the coast.
