Preparations Underway For Chitimacha Lousiana Open

Tuesday, March 20, 2012 - 6:25pm

Even though we're dealing with strong storms across Acadiana. preparations are underway for the Chitimacha Louisiana open.
This year's lineup of golf pro's is one of the strongest ever with many of these guys moving on up to the big PGA tour.

Lafayette's own Michael Smith played in the US Open last summer
and he's hoping to see a big home town crowd.

"the people of lafayette have been great to me and i love it here obvioulsy. born here, lived here my whole life, and love it to death and would love for all the people to come out and hopefully i can play well. the quality of the field is one of the best one, being the first one in the states for the year, and bayhill is opposite of the pga tour so i guess you've got a lot of those guys that will play this event, so you've always got a great field here. it's really great for the community to come out and see really good golf, you know?  "
The tournament runs from Thursday through Sunday.
Tickets are available at Le Triomphe.
