Volunteers have suspended their search for Mickey Shunick.
The case will now be left up to Lafayette Police and professional search organizations.
This comes after Mickey Shunick's bike was found this past Sunday at the Whiskey Bay exit off I-10.
That's about 30 miles from where she was last seen riding her bike two Saturday's ago on May the 19th.
police tell us today the bike had a busted rear rim and its tire was dislodged.
They don't think it was thrown off the bridge but have reason to believe someone placed it in the Atchafalaya Basin.
As far as we know the bike is the only piece of evidence collected out there.
Now Lafayette Police and professional search crews will be in charge of hunting down more clues.
The Find Mickey Now Facebook group posted this message about their search being suspended.
they say quote:
This in no way means that our efforts will decrease , only that they have changed out of necessity.
we encourage everyone to reblog, repost, reshare, and keep talking about mickey."
