In Lafayette a man was killed in a fiery crash on La New-Velle road early this morning.

27 year old Daniel Wray was killed after his Lexus ran off the road for unknown reasons and hit a tree.

The impact sparked a fire in the engine compartment that spread in the passenger areas of the vehicle.

Wray was pronounced dead at the scene the crash is still under investigation.
